How do I add more RadioPro Solo or Talk connections to an existing Gateway?

Last updated:

Additional Solo/Talk connection capacity can be purchased for an existing RadioPro IP Gateway. The upgraded license is issued for that particular Gateway; adding connections is different from transferring licenses from another unit.

Solo and Talk share a per-Gateway connection pool. Extra seats do not add voice radio channels.

  1. Connect with a compatible ICU utility and inspect the License Key information. Check the current installed count rather than relying only on the number printed on an older equipment label.
  2. Determine the peak number of simultaneous Solo and Talk connections needed on that Gateway. These clients share its connection pool; the number of usernames is not the same as the number of concurrent connections.
  3. Contact your authorized dealer/CTI with the Gateway serial number and requested capacity. Export the existing license file as directed for the upgrade request.
  4. Retain a backup, then import the updated file supplied for that Gateway using the supported License Key procedure.
  5. Confirm the new count and test the intended number of client connections.

The Solo guide also documents a client-side license export/import workflow for an administrator. Use the process appropriate to the installed version and the file supplied for the upgrade.

Capacity belongs to individual Gateways. Expanding one does not automatically expand every other Gateway, add independent radio channels or change Dispatch-position licensing. Include those separately when planning a larger system.
