RadioPro Link Frequently Asked Questions
RadioPro Link FAQs for stable endpoint access, Starlink, CGNAT, network changes, reconnection and remote Gateway configuration.
Reach your Gateway through a stable endpoint
RadioPro Link connects compatible clients to a provisioned Gateway without requiring customers to track a changing public IP address. It supports deployment behind CGNAT, including suitable Starlink and cellular internet connections.
The Gateway still needs working internet access and the control station still needs RF coverage. Network policies, compatible versions, accounts and licensing remain part of the setup.

Yes. The RadioPro Link announcement includes ICU among the applications that can access a provisioned Gateway through its assigned endpoint. Use a compatible ICU version and the connection…
Yes. RadioPro can provide radio access from a remote office, a home workstation, or a mobile device when a suitable network connection to the RadioPro IP Gateway is available.
Yes. RadioPro Link is designed to retain the provisioned endpoint when the Gateway moves to another usable internet connection. Remote clients continue using that endpoint rather than the new…
Yes, a supported RadioPro installation can use Starlink or cellular internet. RadioPro Link provides a connection option for Gateways behind carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT).
A provisioned RadioPro Link connection normally does not require a static public IP address or an inbound port-forwarding rule at the Gateway site. Clients use CTI's assigned endpoint rather than…
Basic RadioPro client-to-Gateway communication can operate on a local IP network without public internet access. The client must be able to reach the Gateway, and the Gateway's control station…
Bandwidth depends on audio mode, the number of active voice streams, connected clients and the network path. CTI's published planning figures are approximately 2.2 kBytes/s per compressed audio…
Encrypted network connections are available with supported RadioPro versions and the appropriate connection configuration. Encryption should be verified for your installation rather than assumed…
CTI tested RadioPro Link using Starlink Mini on the Roam plan in September 2026, both stationary and in motion. The announcement reports the following client-to-Gateway timing results through…
A Link-routed client loses its path to the Gateway while the required internet connection is unavailable. RadioPro Link is designed to recover its connection after the network returns, including…
A temporary construction site needs a compatible control station radio, a RadioPro IP Gateway, the correct interface cable, suitable antenna and power arrangements, and a network path to the…
RadioPro Link is CTI's remote-connectivity service for a provisioned RadioPro IP Gateway. It provides a stable endpoint name that compatible clients use instead of tracking the site's changing…
The default RadioPro client connection port is TCP 48222. The complete firewall requirements depend on your Gateway settings, configuration tools, optional features, and connection method.
The RadioPro Link announcement identifies Dispatch, Solo, the Talk mobile app and ICU as applications that can connect using a provisioned Link endpoint. CTI must confirm the installed versions…
Match RadioPro software to the Gateway family and check the release requirements before updating. Patch revisions do not always need to be identical, but an arbitrary mix of versions is not supported.
ICU Auto Find uses local network broadcasts, so it normally discovers Gateways on the same local broadcast network. It does not automatically discover a Gateway across a router, separate VLAN, or…
A speed test mainly measures throughput; it does not establish end-to-end radio audio delay. A connection can transfer many megabits per second while intermittent latency, jitter, loss or…
