Why does RadioPro Solo or Talk disconnect after approximately five minutes?

Last updated:

A repeatable disconnect after approximately five minutes can indicate a Gateway licensing limit or an expired timed license. Check for a license message before treating the symptom as an ordinary network timeout.

RadioPro Solo and Talk share the Solo/Talk connection pool installed on the Gateway. Count both PC and mobile connections when comparing current usage with the purchased seat count. Creating more usernames does not increase the number of licensed simultaneous connections.

A Gateway using a timed demonstration license can also stop maintaining longer connections when that license expires.

  1. Record the exact message and whether disconnects occur at a consistent interval.
  2. Have the administrator check the current Gateway license and simultaneous Solo/Talk connections.
  3. Disconnect unused clients and test again if the seat count is exceeded.
  4. Contact your dealer or CTI if additional seats or conversion of a timed license is needed.

If there is no licensing indication, investigate the network path and application logs separately. The timing is a useful clue, not proof of the cause.
