Can RadioPro notify a dispatcher when a radio enters or leaves an area?

Last updated:

Yes. RadioPro Dispatch supports geofences that identify when a tracked radio enters or leaves a defined area. The feature depends on a supported GPS configuration and the required licenses.

An administrator defines the area on the map and configures the applicable geofence behavior. Dispatch uses received GPS reports to determine when a subscriber crosses the boundary, and geofence events can be reviewed in the appropriate panels and history reports.

This can help a dispatcher monitor arrivals at a facility, departures from an assigned area, or movement into a restricted zone.

Detection depends on location reports. A radio that is out of coverage, has no GPS fix, or reports infrequently may not produce an immediate boundary event. Test the chosen boundaries and update intervals in normal operating conditions before using geofences in your workflow.
