Plan one RadioPro IP Gateway and one voice control station radio for each channel or talkgroup you need to access independently at the same time.
One control station may be programmed with many channels and allow a client to select among them. Changing its selected channel does not create multiple independent voice paths.
Example: if a dispatcher must continuously hear three separate channels at once, plan three voice control stations and three Gateways. If the user only needs to select one of those channels at a time, a single compatible radio/Gateway may be suitable.
Scanning, where supported by the radio system, also differs from having a dedicated receiver for each channel and can miss simultaneous traffic.
Data-revert radios used for GPS do not add independent voice channels. Your dealer should size the Gateway count and Dispatch connection licenses around the actual concurrent voice requirement.
