How long can RadioPro Dispatch retain recordings, and how much storage is required?

Last updated:

RadioPro Dispatch recording retention depends on available storage, traffic volume, and your history-management practices. There is no single storage estimate that fits every radio system.

Size storage using the number of logged channels, how many hours per day each channel actually carries audio, the stored audio format, and the number of days you need to retain. History also includes event data, so allow additional capacity and operating headroom.

Example: if a representative test produces 500 MB of history per day, 90 days requires approximately 45 GB before backup space and free-space headroom. This illustrates the calculation; it is not a published per-channel RadioPro storage rate.

For a useful estimate, measure several typical days of history at your site and include unusually busy periods. Dispatch stores history in daily folders. Coordinate backup, retention, and removal of old records with IT, and avoid deleting records you are required to preserve.

Verify your history path and monitor free disk space regularly. Recording retention requirements should be set by your organization.
