A RadioPro IP Gateway can provide supported GPS/AVL integration through its licensed MultiSpeak capability, when the receiving utility system implements a compatible interface. Compatibility must be checked for both ends.
MultiSpeak is a utility-industry interoperability standard. Support for the standard's name does not mean every application accepts every GPS service, message, or version. CTI's Gateway documentation lists MultiSpeak support, including version 4.1 capabilities on applicable firmware.
Before planning an integration, confirm:
- Radio models, system type, GPS reporting, and expected location-update rate.
- Gateway firmware, the installed GPS/MultiSpeak licenses, and the exact supported service/version.
- The receiving application's required messages, identifiers, endpoint, and authentication/network arrangement.
- How radio IDs map to utility vehicles and how stale or missing locations are handled.
Test with representative radios and the utility software supplier before treating the connection as available. Showing locations inside RadioPro Dispatch is a separate use case from successfully delivering them to an external system.
This capability does not imply automatic integration with every GIS, outage-management, CAD, or fleet-management product. Give CTI the receiving product name, version, and interface specification for a compatibility review.
