Yes. With a supported Motorola MOTOTRBO or Kenwood NEXEDGE control-station interface, Solo provides a virtual radio front panel and supported remote radio functions. The available controls depend on the radio model, system mode, programming and installed versions.
Typical uses include selecting a programmed channel, choosing a private/group recipient, and accessing supported radio functions without placing the physical radio at the user's desk. The Gateway and control station remain at the radio site, connected to the PC over the network.
| Control | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Receive volume | Use Solo's playback/volume slider rather than treating the drawn radio knob as the PC audio control. |
| Radio power | The virtual power button does not provide a permanent remote power-off. Use only the supported reboot function for the connected radio. |
| Channel selection | Changes the shared donor radio and therefore what other clients on that Gateway hear. |
| Basic COR/PTT or APX 4500 interface | Provides its documented talk/listen functions, not a full digital front-panel/control interface. |
For an office supervisor, this can provide practical radio access from a normal PC. For independent simultaneous monitoring of several radio channels, use additional radio/Gateway paths and a suitable Dispatch configuration.
