How do I back up and restore my RadioPro IP Gateway configuration?

Last updated:

Use ICU's File → Export command to save the Gateway configuration as an .icu settings file. Keep the backup in a secure location because it contains system configuration and user-account information.

Review addressing before restoring. A settings backup does not transfer licenses to another Gateway.

  1. Connect with an ICU version compatible with the Gateway.
  2. Authenticate using the Gateway administrator credentials.
  3. Choose File → Export and save the settings with the Gateway name, serial number, and backup date.
  4. Retain the Gateway's license file separately; the configuration export does not include its license keys.

To restore settings, connect to the appropriate Gateway, use ICU's settings import function, review the imported configuration, and write the settings to the Gateway. Confirm the procedure in the installation guide for your version.

Check addressing before applying an old backup or importing settings into replacement hardware. A copied IP address can conflict with a unit still on the network. Configuration restore also does not transfer hardware-bound licenses to another Gateway.

Afterward, verify client connections, users, channel aliases, and any optional features.
