Check the Kenwood control-station programming and the RadioPro channel/zone configuration separately. A missing channel entry, an interface setting or an alias/visibility setting can each change what a client displays.
- Identify the exact radio and programming software. Use the matching CTI NEXEDGE installation guide rather than another model's settings.
- Check the first channel entries. CTI's field guidance identifies an empty/skipped Channel 1 in Zone 1 as a possible cause of failed radio initialization. An omitted first channel in a later zone can prevent that zone and subsequent zones from appearing. Have the programmer verify these entries.
- Verify the serial interface. The documented control-station setup uses the required COM-port data mode and PC Interface Protocol Version 2. Check the model-specific programming guide.
- Review RadioPro aliases and visibility. A displayed “Channel 1” label may be a RadioPro alias rather than the radio's programmed label. Configure the intended names and visible entries in ICU.
- Write and test. Back up the codeplug before changes, write the approved configuration and test channel selection with the real radio.
A control-station data-revert radio is a different role and is not another channel-steered voice radio. Also distinguish this issue from Talk's deliberate combined channel-list presentation: the mobile app's zone display and a radio initialization failure are different questions.
