Can RadioPro work over Starlink, cellular internet, or a connection behind CGNAT?

Last updated:

Yes, a supported RadioPro installation can use Starlink or cellular internet. RadioPro Link provides a connection option for Gateways behind carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT).

CGNAT means the internet provider shares a public IPv4 address among customers. Forwarding a port on your own router does not create an inbound path through the provider's CGNAT. This matters when the Gateway site is behind CGNAT; a phone using cellular data to connect outward is a different situation.

With RadioPro Link, a compatible Gateway establishes an outbound VPN connection to CTI's hosted infrastructure. Client applications use an assigned hostname to reach that Gateway. This avoids the need for a directly reachable public IPv4 address at the Gateway site.

Contact your RadioPro dealer or CTI Products Sales to check Gateway hardware, firmware, client compatibility, licensing, and service availability. Test latency and audio quality on the intended connection before relying on it for daily operation.
