Should our organization use two-way radios, smartphone push-to-talk, or a combination of both?

Choose the mix around each user's work and available coverage. A combined RadioPro system can keep field users on compatible radios while providing PC or smartphone access for supervisors and office staff.

A mixed system keeps the dependencies of each path. Test each role’s actual coverage and workflow.

Operating behaviorDedicated radio controls.App permissions, operating-system behavior, and other phone activity affect use.
Typical roleStaff working within radio coverage who need a dedicated device.Supervisors or staff with suitable data coverage who benefit from mobile access.

A hybrid installation still needs compatible control station/Gateway equipment and the appropriate licenses. Test coverage and workflow for each role, including background reception, headset/PTT use, and what happens during a network outage.

Smartphone access provides another way to reach the radio system; it does not extend RF coverage for the radios that remain in use.
