What is Radio over IP (RoIP), and how does RadioPro work?

Last updated:

Radio over IP (RoIP) carries two-way radio audio and control information over an IP network. RadioPro uses this connection to let people access a compatible radio system from a Windows PC or mobile device.

A RadioPro IP Gateway connects to a control station radio at the radio site. The Gateway exchanges audio and supported control information with RadioPro applications over a local network, a routed network, or an internet connection.

The Gateway includes the radio connection server, so a separate central server PC is not required for basic RadioPro connectivity. Available features depend on the radio system, software versions, and licenses.
