TurboVUi is the former name of CTI Products' RadioPro product family. Older Gateway labels, installers and manuals may still use TurboVUi, while current products use the RadioPro name.
The name alone does not identify the hardware generation or the software version. A legacy TurboVUi installation might include a Gateway, a PC client and licenses acquired at different times. Check each component before downloading an update or ordering a replacement.
What to collect for an upgrade review
- The Gateway serial number and running firmware version, plus its underlying hardware/OS generation where known.
- The control-station radio model and firmware.
- Dispatch, Solo, Talk and ICU versions currently in use.
- Existing licenses and the voice, GPS, messaging, logging or remote-access functions that must continue working.
CTI's Version 8 downloads page carries an end-of-life notice and directs customers toward Version 9. Older XPR 4550 control stations have different Gateway requirements from the newer supported radios, so a migration may involve radio or Gateway hardware as well as client software.
An update within a supported generation and a migration across hardware/OS generations are different jobs. Do not assume a new installer converts every old Gateway in place. Retain separate settings and license backups, and have your dealer or CTI confirm the supported path and any return-to-factory work before scheduling the cutover.
